To Those Who Dare To Love

by Lee Williams

(poem from the humor section)

The Watcher, the Talker and the Doer

The watcher watched the doer

do his doing thing

He pondered and he watched

but said or did nothing

The talker talked about him

and o' the things he said

He talked and grumbled day and night

until he went to bed

The doer never noticed

the watcher doing naught

The doer was too busy

to hear the talker's talk

The doer did not always finish

sometimes it was not right

But he was happy in the trying

and kept trying with all his might

The days came and went

as busy as they could be

And finally success was his

as far as all could see

"To Those Who Dare To Love"

A life's collection of poems & prose written & illustrated

by Lee Williams,

pub. by Publish America, copyright 2004

Lee was born during a blinding snow storm in the back of her grandparents' small-frame home in Lexington, Oklahoma. Her grandmother was one of her greatest influences religiously and poetically.  In January, 1966 during a huge snowstorm, a 19 year old girl married an airman from Tinker Air Force Base and became Mrs. Howard Williams.  They lived in Iowa for three  years and then moved to the beautiful Ozarks area in NW Arkansas where they raised a daughter and a son.  It was here Lee began writing children's stories and wrote many of her poems and prose.

As an illustrator and fine artist for 30 years, Lee won many awards and designed logos for some major companies. Her fine art works are in private and public collections in most of the United States, as well as several foreign countries. While working for Oklahoma Tourism in the Graphic Arts Dept. Lee painted several large murals for some of Oklahoma's State Parks and completed many illustrations for signs and publications.  Lee received a BA in Graphic Art and Design from UCO in Edmond, OK.

Although Lee has been a graphic artist and held many other jobs along the way she feels being a wife, mother and now a grandmother have been her life's most important roles.  Several of Lee's illustrations within the books pages have won awards. This book's warmness, intense love, and humor will touch the hearts of others who dare to love selflessly. As they laugh, cry, and enjoy her life's collection of prose and poetry, Lee hopes they will see some of their own struggles and feelings revealed with the pages of her heartfelt works.
